Two Facing Charges in Liquor Case Hershell Patterson, proprietor of the Crown Hotel, and Robert Lee Thomas, 32- year-old resident of the hotel, faced state charges here this morning following recovery by city police of a quantity of whiskey at the hotel early yesterday. Police officers said several bottles of whiskey found at the hotel bore liquor tax identifications from the McClure Liquor Store at Qulin. Thomas is charged with burglary and larceny of the McClure liquor store and Patterson is charged with possession of stolen property listed as $300 worth of whiskey taken from McClure store and property of the estate of the late Marvin McClure. The McClure store owner died recently and the establishment was closed when it was burglarized on March 5, 1962. Patterson was released on a $2000 bond and Thomas is held in the county jail for failure to post a $3000 bond in the case. Both men will be given preliminary hearing before Judge Francis M. Kinder in Magistrate Court next Monday.
