"Lucky Few"

Photo taken 1948/1949 on the steps of the Qulin High School building.

Once a month Zindle allowed some of the other boys an opportunity to spend
some quality time with some of his cuties. Booger was the only "townee" who
was able to wine and dine some of the girls at Ma and Mary Loshes Cafe and
Juke Joint. There was a Beetle Organ for slow dancing or cool listening. My
favorite song was "Life gets Tegious, Don't It." Booger was flush because
he mowed Joe Hefner's lawn and had a paper route. The rest of us didn't
have two dimes to rub together so we had to suffer.

Left to right-Zindle Pleasant, Dorothy (Legs) Nentrup, Mary Coble, J.E.
Stephens, Harold Melton, Kathaleen Dennison, Buddy Lee and Junior (Booger)
Hollowell.
