HE'S MINE, GIRLS'
Kathaleen Dennison seems to be telling Mary Sue Webb on her right and Mary
Coble to keep their hands off, just because she saw him first. Believe me
with their good looks Mary Sue and Mary didn't have any problem
attracting the boys like bees to honey.
Mary Coble is the curator and historian of the Oldest House in Qulin.
The old bank building was recently obtained by the Historical Society and
will be renovated and made into a Museum. The operation of the bank was
moved to Malden after it was robbed the second time. The Tellers Booth from
the bank is now located in the Gentzen School Building.
The bank building was then used by some of the local women for making straw
and cotton batting mattresses. During the II World War some of the school
lunches were served here from the produce that Margaret Scott, Delie
Osborn, Ma Scott, Ollie Wilkes, Aunt Daisy Neal, Artie Johns, Mrs. Huff and
other women had raised and canned at a victory garden in Crane Roost and
Oglesville. Crip McClure was one of the individuals that provided
transportation to and from the victory garden.
